McGee, Helen Kathleen- Surrounded by her loving family, entered into Eternal Glory on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. Born in San Francisco, California on August 18th, 1967. Helen was the loving daughter of Patrick "PJ" and Kathleen McGee and the adored sister of Patrick (Georgene), Tom (Tammie), Margaret (Tom Smith), Michael, Colleen (Philip Malouf), and John (Cherie). She was the devoted Aunt to Shane, Ashley, Danielle, Jacqueline, Kara, Justin, Erin Stevie, Shannon, Kaitlyn, Kathleen, Kevin, Hayley and Danny. Helen is also survived by her beloved Aunt Vonnie McGee, Uncle Sean McGee and cousins Sean and Shannon of Millbrae. She is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins in Ireland. Helen joins her mother Kathleen "Kay" McGee in everlasting life. Resting peacefully after 10 courageous years of fighting cancer. Helen radiated light and kindness. She had a great love of people and everyone she met was touched by her absolute love of life, quick whit and roaring laughter. She was an example of survival and strength, never giving up or letting a disease define her life. The love Helen had for her family and friends was constant and unmatchable. She was a tireless, supportive sister to her six siblings and a warm, funny, magical aunt to fourteen nieces and nephews. She is reunited now with her compassionate, amazing Mother, Kathleen McGee. Helen never had to struggle alone. She was cared for, always, by her father, PJ McGee who kept constant watch over her along with her aunt and Gaurdian Angel, Vonnie McGee. She was also cared for by her siblings who showered her with love, faith and laughter. She was a steadfast friend to so many and regardless of how Helen felt; she had an uncanny ability to make you forget she was sick. She had an amazing ability to listen, understand and advise in her always quick, candid manner. Anyone that knew Helen was truly blessed. If you knew Helen, you were never alone, and you always had a friend. She inspired people, accepted people and cared about people. We will always miss her. But her new journey will be one with peace and love and without pain. In heaven, just as in life, she will always be looking after us. Family and friends may visit Thursday 6:30pm with a rosary 7:30pm at St. Emydius Church, 286 Ashton Ave. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at 10:00am, also at St. Emydius Church. Commital at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's name to the Ida Friend Infusion Center UCSF. Checks made payable to the UCSF Foundation and mailed to the UCSF Foundation Po. Box 45339 San Francisco, CA 94145-0339 Please indicate the gift is in Memory of Helen McGee.
