Dr. Harry Angelo Gay, 73, passed away at home on October 29th after a short illness.Harry was born on February 15, 1936 to the late Angelo and Ambrosina Gay in Washington D.C.; he moved to Stockton, CA at the age of nine. Harry graduated from Stockton High School in 1952 and Stockton College in 1956. He graduated from University of California Dental School in San Francisco (Cal) in 1960. After graduating he moved back to Stockton and started his practice; he practiced dentistry for over 41 years. Throughout his career, Stockton remained his home where he and his wife raised their family. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 53 wonderful-cherished years, Vivian Gay; daughter Kim Girardi, son David Gai, Son-in-law and best friend Rick Girardi, Daughter-in-law Kelli Gai, and six Grandchildren: Matthew, Amanda, and Gregory Girardi; Mitchell, Heather, and Brittani Gai; his dear sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joan and Primo Castagno, nephew Michael Castagno, niece Yvonne Solari (Joey), and great nieces Marissa and Audrianna Solari.
Harry was a man of many talents. He was an avid outdoorsman and an impeccable musician. Anything Harry did, he did to perfection. He was an important member and contributor to many clubs: Good Time Accordion Club, Accordion Club of the Redwoods, Golden State Accordion Club, San Francisco Accordion Club, California Dental Society, San Joaquin Dental Society, and Ducks Unlimited. Harry touched many people in many ways with his knowledge, wisdom, and continuous generosity. His family was his prized possession; his grandchildren could do no wrong; he was so proud of them. He was always there ready, willing, and able. His family will remember him for his unending kindness and caring, sense of humor, words of wisdom and encouragement, very generous heart, and unconditional love. He believed in living life to the fullest with a positive outlook and looking for the good. He will be greatly missed and live on in our hearts forever. Friends and family are invited to attend: Visitation, Tuesday, November 3 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Rosary will be held on Tuesday, November 3 at 7 p.m. at DeYoung’s Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St., Stockton, CA.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 4 at 10 a.m. at St. Bernadette’s Parish, 2544 Plymouth Rd., Stockton, CA. Private interment family only
